CEO at Pharma.be
Catherine has a background in law. She started her career at the Brussels bar at the law firm Loeff Claeys & Verbeke, and continued her career in the telecoms sector. First as Director Regulatory Affairs at British Telecom (1997-2002), then 10 years in the public sector, in a leading position and as member of the Board of the Belgian Institute for Post and Telecom services, better known as BIPT-IBPT.
Since September 2013, Catherine Rutten is the leading lady and CEO of pharma.be, that represents more than 130 innovative biopharmaceutical companies in Belgium and thus the main spokesperson for the pharmaceutical industry in Belgium.
On the international level, she is member of EFPIA, the European Federation of pharmaceutical companies and associations, and IFPMA, the international pharmaceutical association in Geneva.
She is member of the Board of “Women on Board” the Belgian non-profit association promoting female access to directorship roles within Belgian enterprises (public and private).
