Kirsten is well known for her specific knowledge and experience in the energy and industrial sector, where she acts for a wide range of companies on projects, M&A transactions, commercial contracts, joint ventures, regulatory aspects and finance.
Kirsten is one of the few energy lawyers in the Netherlands who, as a sector specialist, focuses fully on the energy and industrial sector. What is unique about her practice is that she advises on matters across the full breadth of the sector. As a result, her extensive experience in all kinds of issues concerning merger and acquisition transactions, commercial contracts and regulatory aspects is second to none.

During a real election campaign, various good causes compete with each other to win cash prizes given by Houthoff. Thanks to the efforts of Dennis Nederlof (internal department), Sportclub Only Friends was the big winner. Joska Tempel also made a powerful case for a good cause and won a great cash prize for the Christelijk Jongeren Verbond Overschie. Oscar van Angeren, Jessica den Dekker and Yorick Kool got well and truly drenched for Stichting ALS at the London City Swim and also collected a nice starting amount for the 2018 edition.
This year the IBA Annual Conference will be held in Rome. As always, the Houthoff delegation will be in the Houthoff House, ready to welcome clients and business colleagues during meetings, lunches and dinners.
The Legal Design Team at Houthoff, which was formed in 2016, is one of the most innovative in the Dutch legal world. The team has contributed to several prominent cases. We have also seen court judgments where the visual metaphors that we provided gave guidance. Our Legal Design Adviser Sarah van Hecke gave a keynote speech during the Legal Design Summit in Helsinki and held workshops for the legal teams of various clients on subjects such as contract design and stakeholder design.
